Hindu wedding
We are so excited to celebrate our traditional Hindu wedding with you! We wanted to let you know that we will not be having a traditional wedding party like bridesmaids or groomsmen. In Hindu weddings, the focus is on the joining of two families, and everyone present plays a vital role in blessing the couple.
Here's a simple idea of what to expect:
Colorful Celebrations: Expect vibrant colors, beautiful traditional attire, and joyful music.
Meaningful Rituals: The ceremony involves ancient rituals performed by a priest, around a sacred fire. These rituals symbolize the couple's commitment and blessings for a happy marriage.
Family Focus: Our families will be very involved in the ceremonies, and your presence is a blessing to us.
Longer Ceremony: Hindu wedding ceremonies can be longer than Western ceremonies, so please be prepared to enjoy an immersive cultural experience.
Festive Atmosphere: there will be many opportunities to celebrate, eat delicious food, and share in our joy.
If you have any questions around what to expect then reach out to us.
Unplugged Wedding (MUST READ)
We will be having an unplugged ceremony, so please kindly turn off all electronic devices during the saat phere (the ceremony). We’ve asked a professional photographer to capture this special moment so that you can sit back, relax and enjoy it with us. You are welcome to take pictures and videos post the wedding ceremony; however, we would like you to NOT post them on any of your social media platforms, including whatsapp groups. We would like the opportunity to announce our wedding on our social media platforms when we get some rest. We hope that you can respect out wishes for our day. :)
Can I bring a plus one?
Unfortunately, only those who have received an email invitation are invited. We want to keep our wedding small and intimate with our closest friends and family. We thank you for understanding!
Why are the Mehndi and Haldi events only for the wedding party?
Both are small traditional events important to Hindu culture generally held at a family member's house. It mainly consistent of family members, however, we have decided to include our friends. We look forward to celebrating with you on our wedding day!
Cash Bar
We cannot wait to party with you! The cocktail bar opens at 6:30 and closes at 11:45 pm. The venue accepts credit card, debit, and cash.
Guests who plan to use their credit cards can start a tab and provide the credit card to the servers. The servers will close the tab at the end of the night for you.
Guests planning to use their debit cards or cash can pay as they go throughout the night.
What to wear?
Guests are welcome to wear whatever they feel most comfortable in! Please avoid wearing red colour.
We have no dress code; however, being an Indian wedding means the family (which is a LOT of us) will be in Indian attires. Please do not feel obligated or stressed to wear traditional Indian attire for the wedding. Your presence is more important to us and even if you dressed in PJs we would love you just as much!
The ceremony will occur in the outdoor patio and the reception will be an indoor hall.
Those who wish to wear traditional Indian clothes and want recommendations of where to buy, please contact either of us.
Parking (see details for all three days)
Day 1 (Mehndi/music night) - There will be plenty of parking at the community hall.
Day 2 (Haldi) - We have 16 parking spaces reserved and will provide those who arrive early. There is street parking near our home, so there is nothing to stress about.
Day 3 (Wedding) - Fireside Grill has plenty of guest parking for free. If you are unable to find a parking stall then you should be able to find street parking or parking in the shopping mall next door.
Wedding gifts
Our friends & family ♥
Your presence at our wedding is truly the greatest gift we could ask for. We are so excited to celebrate our special day with each of you.
As we are already blessed with everything we need, we have decided not to create a traditional gift registry. However, if you would still like to contribute to our future together, a monetary gift would be deeply appreciated. We want you not to stress about this so much.
More than anything, we cherish your love and support. We can't wait to share this joyous occasion with you.
Kids meals/drinks
We have tried out best to ensure that we have kids’ friendly food and drinks on all three days of our celebration.
For the wedding day, if the kids require a kid meal, they have the option to order it the day of the wedding. Those who requested kids’ meals should be fine as we have notified Fireside Grill. If you did not notify us earlier and would like kids’ meals, please let us know once the reception begins at 6:30 pm.
Highchairs for kids at Fireside Grill
Fireside Grill will have highchairs for those who require them for their little ones. They carry about 4-5 with them, so we should be fine!
