We’re excited to invite you to our Haldi Ceremony, a special pre-wedding tradition filled with joy, blessings, and vibrant colours! Join us as we apply turmeric & herbal paste(Haldi) to the bride and groom, symbolizing purification and good health for their new journey ahead. Expect fun, food, and lots of laughter as we celebrate this beautiful occasion together.
Come be a part of this joyful celebration with family and friends, and help us shower the couple with love and blessings! Kids are more than welcome—let’s make this a day to remember!
10:30 - 11:00 am - Pooja (Indian priest will perform Indian traditional rituals and worship our land/ancestors to officially mark the beginning of the wedding rituals). Most mantras will be in Sanskrit/translated in Hindi (no English); however, feel free to join if this is something you would love being part of.
11:00 am - 12:30 pm -> Haldi ceremony begins where all the guests will apply haldi (turmeric and herbal paste) to the bride and the groom. This ceremony is done in traditional style that people of our region (Uttarakhand, India) have been following for hundreds of years. All guests will be given a demo so everyone can participate and have fun! We always begin this ceremony by involving kids first.
12:30- 2:00 pm -> Buffet style Indian food will be served. We will also order pizza for kids and those who rather stay away from Indian spices, LOL! There will be alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks served throughout the afternoon.
2:00-2:30 pm -> Close family will likely hang out for a giggle fest in our backyard! Everyone is welcome to stay or head home for an afternoon snooze!

Guest Arrive
If you would love to be part of the wedding ceremony, then please ensure you are at the venue by 4:00 pm. There will be non-alcoholic beverage and finger food served between 4:00-5:00 pm. You have to help yourself with the drink, but the severs will serve the finger food. Make sure to take your seat, enjoy the quick snack while you wait for the bride and groom to make their way to the venue.
As we approach 4:45 pm we want to be ready to welcome the bride and the groom the ceremony. We request everyone to be seated, be calm, and turn off your devices (volume down and put away).
We are on a strict schedule, so we would like to ensure there are minimal interruptions for the priest to complete the ceremony and the photographers to take pictures.
Some of our family and our friends from India could not make it to our wedding. There will be a laptop setup with a live video streaming so they can virtually attend the ceremony and be present for us. The family members who could not make to the wedding are siblings of the bride and the groom; therefore, it is very important to us that everyone respects our wishes and stays calm during the ceremony, so that our family and friends in India can also enjoy the ceremony.

Hindu wedding is a deeply spiritual and cultural celebration that marks the union of two individuals in marriage, guided by sacred rituals and traditions. The ceremony often includes the exchange of vows and blessings, symbolizing the couple's commitment to each other and to a shared future. Key rituals such as the Saat Phere (seven circles around the sacred fire), the Kanyadaan (giving away of the bride), and the Sindoor and Mangalsutra (symbols of marriage) are central to the event.
We would love for you to be part of this special day, and we encourage you to come in attire that reflects your comfort and personal style—just please avoid wearing red, as this colour is traditionally reserved for the bride. Your presence will make our day even more memorable!
